Introduction of Domiciliary physiotherapy service

by Ankit Desai | Jun 12, 2020 | in Rehabilitation

Submitted on behalf of Hannah Mills - Advanced physiotherapy practioner

Although providing some form of a service over the telephone, it really isn't a substitute for seeing people. We therefore have set up a Community MSK service. This currently is one person, but as demand increases this might increase to more.

Domiciliary physio traditionally is around functional assessment and deconditioned patients who are house bound. We may find that moving forward we have a younger population of people that are house bound (due to shielding), where this service would need to continue.

What is needed to sustain the change?

Appropriate funding and staffing
