Selfish behaviours

by Cristina Serrao | May 31, 2020 | in What to stop

Everyone working towards one goal has seen a more emphasis on treating the person as one. Not just their specific body part.

The need to recognise when you haven’t taken into account home situation and impact on MSK conditions

Recognising that you may not have all the answers, that best policy is to actually ask the patient for their views

Discharging for DNA needs to stop,  a phone call should always be attempted

If patients not up for travel on day should be able to swap to a call in same time slot

In particular chronic pain patients or those with long term conditions who may have very variable pain levels and fluctuating abilities

Carers should always be asked their opinion if patient consent

Very clear we need parity of esteem treating person as one, both physical and mental health with equal balance and recognising impact each has on other.

Should this be stopped or restarted in a different way? If you think it should be restarted in a different way then how would you change it from before?

Love these common sense suggestions. "If patients not up for travel on day should be able to swap to a call in same time slot " - why did it take a pandemic to make this stuff happen?
