I have a 6weekly infusion and have been receiving this treatment at a local college during Covid-19 lockdown avoiding the hospital other than for booked blood test appointments which I prefer far more than before as there is no communal waiting area and you are expected. The infusion in a non hospital environment has been a positive experience from ease of parking to treatment at social distancing in a relaxed environment.                The Rheumatology Dept have been easy to contact and have also received  a video call, I appreciate that no all patients maybe able to have access to a digital app for this service however I welcome this move. Thank you all.

Thanks for posting Sarah. This sounds like a great way to deliver treatment closer to people, especially where they don't live close to a hospital.

Thank you for your really valuable post about the helpful changes providing in your care with the resiting of the infusion unit and also of receiving a video consultation scall - I wondered -any thoughts about any practical pros and cons of video v face to face appointments from your experience with services going forward.

Hi Carol
I found the video call very helpful and reassuring ( even though I had difficulty manouvering my camera and speaking with you at the same time)... if patients have booked appointment calls it maybe helpful for photos unless you need to see mobility and it may also be useful for the patient to have someone with them to help- just a thought.
I feel as if I know my body very well and if need to go into the hospital for face to face consultation, the checks ups and biologics i am happy to receive via video.
I have my second infusion this Friday outside of the hospital environement and will happily give you feedback on how that goes.
The teams dedication into improving service and delivering treatment in these testing times is greatly appreciated. Thank you all.
