Keep Ring fenced T&O wards

by Niel Kang | May 17, 2020 | in What to stop

Trauma patients are scattered across the hospital:

Ward nurses and physiotherapists are not necessarily MSK trained and so are unfamiliar with caring for trauma patients resulting in suboptimal rehabilitation.

Reduced orthogeriatrician access.

Increased length of stay.

Reduced / ineffective communication with patients and or next of kin.

Frustrated patients, next of kin and staff.

Should this be stopped or restarted in a different way? If you think it should be restarted in a different way then how would you change it from before?

You should edit the title, I thought you wanted to stop ring fenced wards until I read the detail!
