We have shifted to a telephone /video consultation mode of reviewing subacute and post surgical patients .
The impact has been of one of quality. We are now able to review patients that previously may have had to wait after an initial consultation with greater regularity for short periods of time to assess their status and to progress their rehabilitation. Although, video and telephone consultations should not completely take the place of face to face consultations it does offer an extension to the our previous rehabilitation provision in-terms of offering the patient:
- More flexibility
- More follow ups to improve adherence
- And cost effectiveness for the NHS
This therefore provides an additional arm to our current rehabilitation provision and has the potential to lead to greater quality for the patient.

As a geographically large Trust we have used virtual fracture clinics for some time . they definitely add value and save on unneccessary communting of patients and staff. as you said face to face always going to be required but this is a useful additional option.
what platform do you host it on- attend anywhere, MSTeams ?
